Glider Rental Pool

This is an annual 'membership' for graduates of our Full Certification Course or otherwise Rated pilots that don't yet have their own glider.

When entering the sport of hang gliding acquiring your own gear can sometimes be costly and you will most likely be unsure what brand or model of glider you ultimately want to settle into. The idea of this membership is to provide you with access to a few novice rated gliders to try out and to safely explore your first soaring conditions on a stable, reliable, predictable glider.

When finishing up your initial training, we recommend you focusing your financial resources on purchasing your own harness and parachute as those are more personal items and then join this group and use the gliders available to you. We will have a mix of gliders such as WillsWing Falcons, WillsWing Eagles and Northwing Freedoms to suite most sizes of pilots (mostly from 160 to 220lbs).

With this mix of gear you can focus on building some soaring experience and then figure out if you'd like your own glider of this calibre or maybe grow past this stage and look for something more advanced without the need to outlay too much of your own money and then regret your purchase and have to go to the trouble of selling it. Instinct will look after the overall health of the gliders and will perform required maintenance.

All flights on these gliders must be logged as well as a detailed maintenance and repair log. Flight duration on these gliders may be restricted on days when multiple pilots may wish to get on them but we will try to have enough gliders on hand to meet demand as our pilot base grows.

For the 2011 season we are offering six months of deferred payments (with no fees!). For 2012 we will require enrollment in this plan starting in October 2011.
