Instrument Pod - Basetube mount bracket

Instinct Windsports

Instrument Pod - Basetube mount bracket

$ 90.00 CAD

The mount and rod are permanently hinged.   Removal from aluminum basetubes needs no tools and are 100% secure due to our unique cam-lever.  Carbon mounts slide inward towards basetube handles for removal.

We tested our mounts to hold 15lbs positive and negative which should be well over 6G (depending on what instrument(s) you are putting on it.  15lbs positive (forward position) didn't fail.  12lbs negative (rotated up, slightly past vertical) didn't fail but at 15lbs the rear edge of the mount deformed but didn't fail.  We can't foresee the mount failing but as always, rig your instruments with a safety lanyard!

  • QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

    Ask a Question
    • What instrument pods use what size threads?

      AltAir pods:  Current models use M8.  Their original ones used M6
      Naviter Blade:  M6
      Flytec instrument mounts use 1/4"-20

    • Are these 3D printed?

      No!  They are CNC milled out of UHMW engineered nylon.  There is still a lot of manual labour to create these simple looking products.  We make them in small batches of each model at the same time

      3D printing is cool and handy but we don't trust our instruments to stay attached in flight to a 3D printed product.  I do have reports that the 3D printed mounts have broken....it is a good reminder to always have a lanyard on your instruments just in case...
